I have made an update to let this work for journals, too ^^

This is genius. I hate fishing out thumbs of stamps that some dis pleasing deviants break with their storage stuff. Why isn't this a DD?

Well reading the comments - does this script work? I just spent 2 days removing all the broken thumbs from 15,000 favs. Will this work for our main favs folder? Or does it work at all?

Yep, it's still working.^^
However, it's not to remove favourites from your favourite-list but to remove stamps and thumbs from custom widgets you made... as is shown in the image above. ^^

Yeah, userscripts.org kind of died...
I'm writing a new site on my own...though it's a slow process^^
Until it's finished, I link my scriptes directly here.
If you encounter other links not working, please tell me and I change them, too^^

Yes, there are two workarounds!
One I advise is installing Tampermonkey for Chrome.
Tampermonkey is an extension to manage userscripts with chrome. With that you can install userscripts from any site and they won't mess up your extension-list as they are listed within the Tampermonkey-overview.
To install userscrpts the old way, you need to download the userscript into a file and open the extension-list within chrome. Dragging the file into the extension-list will install it as a new extension. However, classic GM-functions won't work, so some scripts may not work that way.

Do you know of any known extensions that may conflict with this extension? It's not working for me now for some reason.

Well, I just noticed, the script itself didn't work anymore.
Probably dA changed how the used elements were displayed by default, so the popup didn't show up anymore.
Could you please try out v0.97 ?
I just tested it within chrome.

It's still working for me.
When I go into a custom box and enter :thumb123123::thumb123456::thumb310139684: there, then click on "save" and after that on "edit" again, I get a popup informing me, that 123123 is deleted.

Are you using firefox?
does the popup simply not appear?
Are there thumbs that are broken/stored? (otherweise, try :thumb123123: )
In Firefox, press ctrt+shift+j to open the error-console. switch to "error", clear the list and reload the page. While trying to use the script, does an error appear in the error-console?

mmmh... that is not within my userscript^^
ThumbTools are making a lot of errors in the console as it seems.
I installed it, too, but I still can't reproduce your error.
Could you please send me a note with the widget's content?

Ah, that's it^^
Originally I made it only for custom boxes.
I think it will now work in any other box on the front page, too.
Just update/reinstall the script.

I support this idea! Also in journals, etc.

Thanks^^ Although it's not only an idea, but a working script^^
doing that in Journals is bit more difficult, as editing a journal doesn't work without page-reload...
So, it would need to look into the preview of the journal-entry to know which thumbs are broken...
Well, that is possible, too, but I need to some time for that and can earliest start tomorrow evening^^
