Title: Getting In

Early the next morning, Ms. Courtney wakes Annie and Dee up, and they head to Tallaght for the auditions for the song contest. The auditions are being held in a tall, brick building, and they all head inside. Ms. Courtney gives Annie’s details to the receptionist and he gives them directions to the room where they have to wait for the auditions. After a while of waiting, it’s Annie’s turn to audition. She drags Dee inside the room, and in the room are three judges (pictured above). They ask Annie to sing something and she sings her three-line song. The three are astonished by Annie’s singing voice, which is unnaturally beautiful for a six-year-old girl. They tell Annie that there will be a letter sent to her house within the next thirty-six hours, and the Courtney Family go home. Twenty-four hours after Annie auditioned, the letter comes in, saying Annie is participating in the song contest. Ms. Courtney tells Annie that she can’t go to the contest because she has too much to do that day.
