Description This little one was made as a gift for my cousin's 21st birthday, hence the charm around her neck. And as soon as I put the tiny necklace on I knew she'd be quite the little princess! She looked so sweet with a 'ring' tiara and loved to be lavished upon.

Although I must admit, she does have a rather woodland-critter sort of face. It's hard to describe. ^_^;; Kinda chubby. Ah well, I think it's cute.

This one was made from the first pattern I designed myself. For those who don't know, a bear pattern is like a piece of artwork in that it is copyrighted to the creator, so it was rather a big deal for me. *glee*

Specifications:
4 inchs tall when standing
Faux fur and leather paw pads
Black beaded eyes
Hand-sculpted polymer nose

(Please note: any leather used in my creations were from scraps destined for the rubbish bin.)

Ah the necklace was just a charm I bought from a jewelry shop. ^_^;; I can't do metalwork.

It's really beautiful! And the teddybear is amazing. I can't understand how you do it, but the result is just so cute!

Yes, you'd just have to hug it with your fingers.

Ha ha, you are right that she has sort of a ..beaver? face, but I think it really fits! Very nice.

Yeah, the cheeks look rather beaver don't they? If i gave her buck teeth I think she could pass as one. XD But that's ok, I want to do other creatures as well, not just bears.

It makes me want to try my hand at a sewn numbat. You can paint fur-material very easily.... if only I could figure out how best to do the tail...

Oh I've never tried to paint fur material. Do you need a special type of paint because I can't see acrylic working very well. I would love to see if you do make one

There's a bear-making forum I frequent and loads of 'rofessional bear-artists' give their tips. You have to do it very very lightly with a dry-brush sort of technique but apparently oils and acrylics work.

Oh I would definitely post it up! XD

Oh wow that's really neat! I'll definetly have to try that now.

And you better! XD

Wow, that is awesome beyond words. When I saw the first couple of pictures I thought it was quite a bit bigger, then I saw it in your hand and I was amazed at how small it really is! How did you do it?

Thank you for all you wonderful comments on my bears. You do some fabulous work too. It's great finding a fellow bear-artist on DA.

It's similar to making a larger bear, similar principles. The pattern is shrunk and often altered slightly so that it can be turned easier. And it is handsewn together. There's alot of great info on this forum about everything to do with teddy-bear (big and small) creation: [link]

Thank you! Heehee, it was quite tempting to keep her myself! But I shall certainly be making more, not exactly the same but hopefully just as cute.
