“Oh come on.” You tug at the volleyball player’s shirt, wanting to go in the direction of the pastry shop you passed by earlier on. “Please?”

“I want to! If you don’t want to eat it, I will!” You tug on Kageyama’s shirt again, and he finally sighs and lets you pull him along.

"I'm getting a slice of cake." You announced. "And we can share it."

After buying the cake, you had Kageyama sit down on a bench, holding the slice of cake up for him to try. He gave you another look before bringing a forkful to his mouth. You didn't miss the way his eyes widened. Grinning, you tried a bit of the cake before letting Kageyama have the rest.

"I'm... really sorry." The grin dropped off your face as you sighed.

"Why?"

You looked at the dark haired teen, whose features were shrouded in puzzlement. "I forgot... your birthday."

"You did?" He stuck another forkful in his mouth.

You couldn't help but laugh at the genuine question. "I only remembered today, so I didn't get you anything. I'm sorry."

"You did get me cake, though." He pointed out.

You cringed. "That was supposed to make up for it, just a bit."

"You didn't have to. I'm happy if you're here with me." He said it so seriously... Your lips twitched into a small smile.

"I'll celebrate it properly with you next year! And I'll be there with you." You promised.

His lips unwillingly formed a grin similar to yours, albeit smaller. "Thank you."

You leaned in, lips sweeping over his in a swift kiss before resting your forehead against his, the cake all forgotten.

"Happy birthday, Tobio."
