This is wonderful, you really captured Nix's expression as well as Ron Livingston's posture and face. The same goes to Winters/Damian Lewis. I know it sounds strange but a lot of people struggle to capture what makes other people so distinctive. Love this piece and its soft, mild backgroung.

Holy... You captured Nix's smirk perfectly. The scene and the muted colors--they look like they're the only two men left on earth. (Or at least in each other's world.)

I spent way too much effort on Nixon's face (not entirely satisfied, yet, but I think it's all right).
And I was going to paint the mountains an so on the background, but opted for somenthing more dream-like in the end.

Pfft, Nix never looked better in my opinion. I think the dreamlike background was a much better choice; any more detail and you'd be distracting from Winters and Nix, who look very comfortable together in that in-between world of water and shadow. One might even go so far as to say it's symbolic. I'm definitely seeing the symbolism, which makes all the elements of the picture fit together harmoniously. The more I look at it, the more I love it.

I loved the blue-purplish tones of sky and water from that scene in the series, using them in a more symbolic manner, as you said, I think worked better for the draw.
And for them I wanted (originally) to draw Nixon after the jump, quitting the wet clothes or something, but I liked the idea of the contrast between completely dressed vs. undressed Winters too.
