Hi, how I added GIMC in Krita?

You already have G'mic. Just go into your filters menu on the top toolbar.

ooh this is super helpful, thank you! Β
i was already looking for a way to just get those sketch lines more clean and then use them as line art for my digital painting, but I never figured out how..

can you do the same thing with Photoshop and manga studio?

glymthecat In reply to Tsuenica [2016-07-04 15:07:14 +0000 UTC]

I don't believe so, unless photoshop has a G'mic option. I'm not sure, I only use freeware.

Deevad In reply to Luurei [2013-12-05 14:23:58 +0000 UTC]

Merci Kuro-Rey.

After softening the lines (on first stages), you end up with sharp and a bit darker lines.
Do you have some trick to do that?
Or do you draw the outlines again?

Thanks for being a great inspiration

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Deevad In reply to SenhorLampada [2013-11-12 14:09:44 +0000 UTC]

Thx! Yes, sometime I redraw on the top when the lines are too blury to get sharper edges. Mainly on the silhouette or to split grounds on a picture.

It's been a while since I last searched around for random tutorials, and from your page as well, what do I say... thanks for the tutorial!

I have to say, this is a very big step forward in the pencil --> digital paint workflow. This would also help a lot of my friends who do a lot of pencil-based artwork to transition their lines for digital coloring!

Fantastique !
Très bon tuto, et le rendu à la fin est très doux, c'est agréable à regarder ! En tout cas j'ignorais que Gimp offrait de telles possibilités, et je ne connaissais pas les autres logiciels. Merci~!

Thanks a lot for this, been looking for something like this for a long time.
Now the only problem I'm having is that my G'mic plugin doesn't have the PhotoComix Smoothing effect... that's strange.

Hey
I have the same problem, my G'mic plugin dosen't have the PhotoComix Smoothing effect either...
So can you please help me by telling what you did/how you found and downloaded an older version to make it work?

mikemelga In reply to Tolstrup94 [2013-03-31 18:31:46 +0000 UTC]

Just googled for G'mic orlder versions and found it.
Here's the page for it: [link]
Don't forget to uninstall the version you have already installed first. Have fun.

Thanks a lot for your help.
I'm sorry to keep ask you questions and I feel really stupid, but I can't figure out what to do with the zip folder/how to install it?
It worked fine the the first time I installed g'mic (the latest version), but now it just wont work...
I use windows 7, 64-bit
I really hope you will take your time to try and help me!

Hi! I see you haven't gotten an answer. You probably have figured out already, but if you haven't, try downloading one who ends with .exe and not .zip that's easier.

One back to 1.5.1.9. worked for me

Hey FrozenLight, Maybe you can find support for installation on the Gimpuser forum or on the G'Mic forum ; I can only help about the usage here. Courage ! I'm sure it will work with a bit of patience and good advices.
