Description entree for an architectural competition, the objection was to create a watersport pavilion.

Entered text:

'positive thoughts and actions expand outward to effect others lives, who in turn add to the "ripple" with their own positive thoughts and actions'

The pavilion is as a rock which falls in the water , the ripples created flow over land and water. Everything is connected and comes out of the previous.

The segments of which the pavilion exists create an upward motion and comes out in a big panorama, which togheter with the open character of the building creates a stunning view for the visitor.

Because of the shape there is an constant movement in the ripple, visitors walk over the pier and sit area and the stairs on the inside of the building, which leads the visitors to the lower area of the building. It gives an effect as if the visitor vanishes in the water.

at the moment yes, there are no railings so you could climp on the roof. I dont know what the real life rules are about it i guess you would need railing on an four meter high building, but i would love to see people scare there pants when they are sitting in the restaurant area and all of a sudden some kid jumps of the front

well in the states you would need a 3ft railing and a ramp for the handicap if it's for public use, don't know how it is in Netherlands. yeah kids scaring grown ups is always fun, lol.

i dont know, the segments are very important in the interior as use for the stairs and roof. i like the game of lines cause they also continue in the three rafts in the water and the framework of the windows.

might be worth some testing though

Fancy, although I think a smoothed roof would be more interesting.
