Description Not sure how to classify this since is a historical piece based on the American civil war Union forces. I based the pattern on the 1862 to 64 clothing, but many men did make there own modifcation to the uniform, the "bummer" in the army of tennessee being a good example.

a classic lead from the saddle leader as was common in both the prints of the day and reality

Holy Crap, it's been a LONG time since I've seen historic art like this.
I honestly almost gave up looking for something like this, as the website the filled to the brim with filler art with only a quarter looking this good and even fewer with any historical pride in them.

Thank you for making this, my hope for historical relevant art made with love and care from the artiest is renewed.

These aren't the Confederate traitors. These are the Union patriots, soldiers of freedom and justice.

You mean more men following orders for the corrupt Union which is still divided politically?

The Confederacy was founded on beliefs of racial supremacy and political corruption, a regime of authoritarian extremists. America may be a flawed democracy, but it is no where near that level of depravity.

The Confederacy was founded to free the states that were being economically deprived by the federal government that they were under. Don't you know the history of the era? ... the Confederate States were no where near the qualifications of a regime since it had a Constitution and a Congress almost identical to the United States government, without political parties of course. I do not see in any way how the Confederate States were authoritarians since they adopted both the US Constitution and laws of the United States to form a more perfect Union, hens the term "Confederacy".

In every declaration of secession issued by the Confederate states they outlined being deprived of their slaves as the primary reason for rebellion. They weren't being economically squeezed by the federal government, they were ruining themselves by their inability to cope with the changes of time. I'm afraid you are reciting the version of history taught in the Deep South today, and it's not the real version. Simply having a Constitution and Congress does not mean a government is not authoritarian and oppressive. The Russian Federation today has a similar structure and they are among the most authoritarian regimes in the world. The Confederacy defied laws that ended slavery, which is itself an authoritarian practice. The Confederacy used their own adapted version of the U.S. Constitution rather than the real one, one that had edits and amendments to suit right-wing extremist ideology, entering territory that would later be coined as Fascism. It legalized acts of immorality against others in defense of unequal rights for deferent groups of people in society. Such oppressive beliefs and prejudice being used for a foundation of government leaves no doubt the Confederacy was far worse than the U.S. government has ever been. Washington himself believed in the authority of the federal government and that it should always keep the states from becoming too radical.

Nice art...I re-enact as a Union soldier with the Sons Of Union Veterans of the Civil War...(we just say SUVCW or Sons) The bummer was pretty standard in both major theaters, but it was popularized with the 90day militia in the Army of the Potamac. The only issue I see is that for 1864, the officer is still very *ahem* noticable., and the soldiers are VERY uniformed and have no ruck/haver sacks.
