One of the greatest warriors in the history of France: An 18-year-old illiterate peasant girl with no military training.

Please create more Catholic art. I would buy the book. Did you see your piece highlighted in ChurchPop?

There is one alternate reality I had in mind that she was burned at the stake for witchcraft because she DID use real magic...
BUT
such magic was benevolent Paladin magic, like in D&D.

This piece is absolutely lovely! The detail, the colors... Even if your physical portrayal of her is not very accurate to historical documentations and accounts I think you captured her spirit a little... The picture is peaceful yet something about it makes you feel on edge. It might be the shadow on her face or the way the mountains make you feel isolated but not quite alone...

One of?! ONE OF?! She's the most popular figures from that war! Man if she lived a lil longer she would've wrote a book about herself! She is one of the best icons Europe has ever had in their history!

Wow i just love the way that you combined the dress with the armour. To me it simply represents how she fought so hard with many sacrafices, yet her dress shows who she was before she decided to do this. Also, the backround of clear skies and mountains symbolizes that there is hope, but it will be more hardships to come for her. (We just finished learning this in school ^_^.) I absolutely love it. This is going to favorites!

Can you change the title to St. Joan of Arc? That's her proper title.
(Daily Deviation) "she was not powerful or overly successful"
Oh, she was pretty powerful, she had God on her side
as for successful
the "voices 'of St. Michael, St. Catherine, and St. Margaret' told Joan to go to the King of France and help him reconquer his kingdom. For at that time the English king was after the throne of France, and the Duke of Burgundy, the chief rival of the French king, was siding with him and gobbling up evermore French territory.
After overcoming opposition from churchmen and courtiers, the seventeen year old girl was given a small army with which she raised the seige of Orleans on May 8, 1429. She then enjoyed a series of spectacular military successes, during which the King was able to enter Rheims and be crowned with her at his side.
That's not the biggest success, she became a saint and a martyr; one of the holy ones of God.
