Description This isn't the complete version, but i failed to get anything better in on time.

I learned a bit about Fiber FX on lightwave, (they were satanist when they made it.)

My rigging failed totally and completely, so I had to modify the model by hand in less then a day and skip out on adding texture to my hero guy.

When i learn to make a rig that will work, I will up date this.

I haven't heard of that program before. I don't know much about creating things that are digital on the computer.

At first it seems like working a nuclear reactor, then over time. It seems like playing tetris, finally it seems like playing chest where by you keep learning new small things here and there.

Like I stated in my description of this piece, I had learned a good deal about fiber effects, I didn't get the project done fully, needed to rig the character... but the important thing was that I learned the fiber effects to a degree.

Photoshop is a little easier then a 3d modeling program, but photoshop also holds a great many advantages that aid 3d modeling. so the two would be a wise subject to learn if you want to learn how to make anything on a 3d modeling program.

oh it sounds very difficult I hope that everything turns out the way you want it to. I mean I seen some 3d things before they are finished they look like lines at least when they start off. Like when they design cars they all start like lines. Yeah that would make me a bit dizzy but the outcome is good.

3d modeling can be difficult at first, more so if you do not have a advanced computer. (mine cost me 1,200 every 3 years) But it is all trial and error, trial and error until you get it looking just right.

As for the line thing, the lines you see are typically there so you can see through the object, the solid form is so you can see the actual object. It sounds more complicated then it actually is, think of most 3d modeling like playing with clay, only that you have a gods ability to see the object from all angles when you see just the lines.

It dose take a little training to train your eye to see the model, but once you have trained your eye, it becomes far easier. It normally take about someplace between 160 to 200 hours to start and learn how to train your eyes to see the 3d world.

I personally have depth perception issues... but thankfully it doesn't affect my ability to see models. Sadly, there are so few schools in PA that teach 3d modeling and of those schools that do teach it... so very few care about teaching it, but rather care more for the money they can take from you.

Oh so you go to college?
Hmm 3D sounds cool yeah I don't have a good computer so I doubt I will be getting into it any time soon. The only place I actually been that's 3d like is second life but I am not going to be in there any time. Although they do have a wire frame thing which I'll upload it if I can find the picture I took. And my character was made of wires. I used to use the wire frame option to go hunting inside of the game for clothes perhaps that's the same wire frame you are talking about.

I would have to see it to know if they are simply using the interface lines for the polygons.

Polygons four point's that make a square, you can have more points but that makes a different type of poly and thus could be harder to texture map and render when you convert them to a triangle. As all models are converted to triangles when rendering, it is best to convert to triangles just before texture mapping.

That concludes todays lesson in how to do 3d modeling. Hope I didn't warp your mind... too terribly much.

I uploaded to my gallery thing it's on the top part somewhere. I just see lines in it but i am sure you probably will appreciate the lines more than me.

the lines are different colors.
nah it's okay it didn't wrap it.

Yah, those lines are a bit crazy. Typically that is how the finished product would look like, but when working with the model, it is a small piece at a time and then adding in the additional pieces on each layer. Then copy and past to a single layer for one model and repeat for each additional model.

Imagine seeing the lines for all of the models in lord of the ring? lol.

ah okays so it's like when you have photoshop and are editing each part separately and then put them together in the end. type of thing. yeah those lines in second life are bad when you are looking at a whole sim trying to find some hidden item that has clothes for your avatar to wear. I used to see those often it made me dizzy but I had a goal which was pretty clothes LOL.
