Description After watching the season 5 premiere I was a little shocked at how adverse and horrifying the effects of first putting on the crown was..... I couldn't help but think of how hard it must have been for Simon to fight with his identity for hundreds of years before finally succumbing to the Ice King.

Adventure Time is actually a pretty deep story, despite the fact that as a kid's cartoon it plays most of the seriousness off with humour. They do a really good job of keeping it appropriate and intense at the same time.

I know more people in their teens and up who watch Adventure Time than I do kids. I think that's because the kids don't get it the same way the older audience members do.

The thing is, he hasn't succumbed. He's still in control. Everything the Ice King does is merely corrupted versions of wishes that Simon had.

The Ice King is essentially a person with severe dementia given massive superpowers.


A testament to his willpower that this was all the Crown could do to him- it wants to freeze everything.

The mix of comedy and drama and intense storytelling in the series is truly incredible, as is this picture. Thanks for putting some much needed spookiness in this drawing.

My thoughts exactly. If putting on the crown did that to Finn the first time he wore it, I can thoroughly understand why Betty left Simon when he put it on the first time... That must've been so terrifying...

I also thought of ice king dressing up like bumi, imagine it, if ice king really did get to working out his gun shows and pecs
