Description "War for Cybertron: Siege is a subline imprint of the Generations toyline, and the first portion of the War for Cybertron Trilogy.

First revealed in mid-2018 at San Diego Comic-Con, War for Cybertron: Siege, in keeping with the installments of the Prime Wars Trilogy, features a line-wide gimmick: weaponry. Most Deluxe, Voyager, and Leader Class figures each come with at least one or two weapons that can transform, combine, and/or be placed into any C.O.M.B.A.T. System posts, 5 mm posts littered all over their bodies, essentially an updated version of the Powerlinx system and Takara's previous Arms Micron play system. Another line-wide feature is battle-damaged paint jobs on Deluxe-and-up figures to fit with the gritty "war" aspect.

Returning to this toyline are Micromasters, which are bundled in two packs, replacing the Legends Class of the last half-decade, and are now able to combine into large weapons as well as transform into their vehicle form. This size class is also used for Soundwave's minions, who can turn into cassettes or be used as a shield with fold-out pegs.

Replacing the Prime Masters from the last toyline are "Battle Masters", small Targetmaster-type figures that can combine with other weapons and figures. They include additional "Fire Blast" effect pieces that can be placed onto other weapons included with other size classes, as well as hardpoints on the figures themselves to simulate being 'shot' or on the back of vehicles to simulate "rocket boosters" or "speed", depending on the effect part. Each effect part attaches via a 3 mm hole, or in most cases, 5 mm posts too.

Some Deluxe Class figures are classified as "Deluxe Weaponizers," which can be disassembled into multiple weapons to be used in the C.O.M.B.A.T. System. Leader Class figures are very similar to Power of the Primes, in which smaller figures come with additional armor that can be added to vehicle mode or robot mode to increase their size to become the height of a Leader Class figure. This is likely due to robot mode scale playing a much larger role in this series than in the past, with characters sticking reasonably close to their relative heights in the original cartoon.

The boxes of the figures have black-light revealed cybertronian script on them which can be put into the "Found a hidden code?" game on the Transformers website, which unlocks various images, stop-motion videos, and Teletraan-1 Data Files. They, along with the instructions and Siege webpage, also introduce a military insignia system for the Autobots and Decepticons.

Siege was followed by War for Cybertron: Earthrise in 2020, as well as a concurrently-available War for Cybertron Trilogy toyline based on the Netflix show of the same name."

Hey there Dex here again with Transformers Month, Today we're looking at Siege the first part of the War For Cybertron Trilogy. I really like Siege with how everyone has Cybertronian alt modes and how there's battle damage n stuff to show these guys are soldiers fighting a war. Also the return of the Micromasters was a welcomed one and the Weaponizer were really cool. Now onto the toyline itself. For the Battle Masters I was able to grab Firedrive (Aka Firebolt), Lionizer, Blowpipe, Pteraxadon, Aimless, Caliburst and Smashdown who are all fun toys but wasn't able to grab Rung or Singe which I do plan to get. For the Micromasters I grabed the Race Car Patrol made up of Roadhandler and Swindler, The Air Strike Patrol made up of Storm Cloud and Visper (Aka Whisper), The Battle Patrol made up of Flak and Topshot (Aka Big Shot), The Rescue Patrol made up of Stakeout and Red Heat (Aka Red Hot), The Sports Car Patrol made up of Blackjack and Hyperdrive, The Off Road Patrol made up of Powertrain and Highjump then the Battle Squad made up of Direct-Hit and Power Punch and lastly Rumble and Ratbat of the Spy Patrol (Just for Ratbat though) all of whom are fun little toys. I didn't grab Laserbeak and Ravage since I have versions of them as is. For the Deluxe Class I got Cog, Skytread (Aka Flywheels), Chromia, Ironhide, Sixgun, Refraktor (Aka Reflector), Brunt, Impactor, Spinister and Crosshairs who are all pretty good but I didn't grab Sideswipe, Hound, Prowl, Red Alert, Barricade or Mirage. For the Voyager Class I grabbed Optimus Prime, Megatron, Starscream, Thundercracker and Apeface with Spasma who are all good toys but I didn't grab Soundwave or Springer. For the Leader Class I grabbed Ultra Magnus and Shockwave who are pretty good but I didn't grab Astrotrain or Galaxy Upgrade Optimus Prime (Aka the weird Cybertron Optimus look alike). I didn't grab Commander Class Jetfire though he does look very good but I did grab Titan Class Omega Supreme with Countdown who is really good.

As for Exclusives I grabbed Greenlight with Dazzlestrike, The Autobot Alphastrike Counterforce made up of Covert Clone Sideswipe (Aka G2 Sideswipe), Slamdance and Trenchfoot, The Rainmaker three pack made up of Acid Storm Ion Storm and Nova Storm, The Refraktor Recon Team three pack made up of Spectro, Spyglass and Viewfinder then the Fan Vote Battle three pack made up of Holo Mirage, Decepticon Impactor and Powerdasher Aragon, all of whom are very good toys. However I wasn't able to grab the Decepticon Phantomstrike Squadron made up of Skywarp, Fracas, Shrute (Aka Hairsplitter) and Terror-Daxtyl or the Autobots vs Decepticons Micromaster ten pack made up of Road Police, Wheel Blaze, Ground Shaker (Aka Groundshaker), Overair, Ricon, Irontread (Aka Ironworks), Nightflight, Slyhopper (Aka Skyhopper), Cratermaker and Fireline though I do plan on tracking those packs down at somepoint. Then I didn't grab Ratchet, Bluestreak, Classic Animation Optimus Prime or Classic Animation Megatron. As for the Netflix line I didn't grab Chromia, Hound, Sideswipe, Decepticon Mirage (Who I do plan to buy), Megatron with Captives Pinpointer and Lionizer then Spoiler Pack Ultra Magnus and Battlefield Rung. I was however able to get Scrapface and Hotlink with Heatstroke and Heartburn. Then I wasn't able to grab the Centurion Drone which I will try to buy at somepoint and I didn't waste my money on HasLab Unicron because honestly Hasbro was taking the piss with that one. Speaking of Netflix the Transformers Siege show was alright, I liked it better than the Prime Wars shows but I had a few problems with Siege like how Ultra Magnus is treated, how everyone talks so fuckingly slowly and how apart from Optimus, Megatron and Starscream, everyone else's voices just didn't fit the characters, Also Bumblebee being a heartless asshole was a weird take but it was pretty funny. Oh I will admit, Soundblaster was cool though.

This has been Dex, over and out.
