Description
Winter sunspreads out flat
on a brown field.
One dead tree shadow
interrupts the grass
and paints sharp
intersections and
parallel arrows.
The two o’clock hour
counts out lonely
heartbeats and hurtful
memories.
Dark comes quickly,
hiding nature and
humanity from
the flatness of
winter days.
