I love this version of The Little Mermaid more than Disney's version. I still like Ariel, though. Marina just seems more pure and innocent. Ariel probably wouldn't have sacrificed herself to keep the man she loved happy.

I love ariel it was my first Film in cinema, but your right... Maria (in german itΒ΄s Andine ^^) is more pure and innocent, but Disney has more skills in animations cartoons than the japanese ppl... the drawings are much better than in the little mermaid. but itΒ΄s an other style so we canΒ΄t compare it to each other... I love both films. but i like more to watch the disney version, because of the end xD So I not have to cry and, Marinas story is so sad... I ever cry when I see the movie T_T

Its been so long since I've seen this mermaid...I had the VHS a long time ago, and I don't know what happened to it. But I remember even when I was a kid I thought it was so different and sadly beautiful; this was probably one of my first exposures to Japanese animation. Great work, and thanks for bringing back a fond memory!
