Description Wanted to put together a guide on lineart. Not necessarily a tutorial, but rather a brief look at the multitude of different styles and techniques that are just as valid and great as one another.

The thing that links any great linework is the drawing and construction skill of the artist (with any degree of stylization) working in conjunction with the chosen medium and the chosen style/aesthetic. One also doesn't have to adopt any one style of drawing either, in fact, the more styles one can confidently work in, the more versatile that artist becomes. Go forth and experiment, go out of your comfort zone and try out as many approaches as you can!

Very well said! 

I've been struggling with my linework for as long as I've been drawing and this was a refreshing take on the matter. I feel my sketches lose so much energy after inking, maybe experimenting with styles will help.

It's definitely an ongoing process, so experimenting should always be encouraged! Also, doing studies of your favorite artists' pieces is a great way to adopt some techniques and whatnot!

This reminds me that I need to look into more of Moebius work, Ive seen very little but its been mindbogglingly amazing!
Any comic/other work by him that you can recommend?

Yeah, Moebius is probably my favorite comic artist of all time. As far as what I can recommend, I'd say anything really, but my favorite stuff of his would have to be his 'Arzach', 'Incal', and 'Airtight Garage' stories. Really weird stuff, but phenomenally designed and drawn!

Knowing a lot of artists gives you a kind of library to 'draw' from, if you like certain techniques, read up on artists that employ that technique, get familiar with their work, etc. Lots of practice and research goes a long way!
