I spent 4 hours trying to find a decent adult anthro dragon design reference to use for Spike since I didn't want to use the same style as the show.[First]

Prince = Prince Blueblood in this case; her attempt to find a prince charming.
Also, it was meant to be a reference to the classic 'Prince rescues fair maiden from dragon' type stories. Since the prince wasn't so charming, she should go for the dragon.

Wasn't Spike supposed to be Celestia's adopted son? So wouldn't that make him one too In fact that would mean he outranks him. Blueblood is only her distant cousin but Spike was raised as her son.

Canon is pretty vague on that; technically, I think it was was stated that Celestia had to learn to raise him due to Twilight being the first to ever hatch the egg, but take it with a grain of salt. I've seen it more often with Twilight being the one to raise him in a combination mother/sister role; and, even accepting that Celestia did raise him to a certain point in life, I don't think she ever officially adopted him; if she was just taking care of him, but not legally his mother, than he's not actually a prince.
But, this is all fan speculation and headcanon stuff that doesn't necessarily fit the actual canon or the canon that Deko is going with in this story. As of right now, though, until it's outright stated he's technically royalty, I'm going to play it safe and assume he's just a dragon raised by ponies.

That depends, if its follow canon since it was a spell and I think Twilight accidentally used on Spike when she hatched him the day she became Celestia's student then most likely its reversible. Plus we saw Trixie cast it.
If not following that, then it might.

You speaking of age spells. I've wondered if that one Spike was hit with when he was about only a minute old was either an age spell or simply a size changing spell. Because I'm pretty sure if Spike never grows wings he's technically a Lindwurm as all my google searches for wingless dragons usually lead to lindwurms.

It's only spell dude, calm down. He may have a matured body, but that doesnt make him an adult (Legally, he's still only a child). Not to mention the spell keeping him like that is most likely going to undo in a bit
