Commission for that has taken WAYYY TOOO LOOONG. Thanks you so much sir for your great and amazing patience with me xD He commissioned this from before LoT even started, but here it is, finally! I'm not usually this lax on commission times, but Kemono is my buddy and he said it's okay ;~;These are his space pirate characters, just chillin out and being themselves! I tried to think of interesting ways to fit 3 characters into a scene like this- so here they are! It was hard at first, but I think it came out pretty well! Just need to keep practicin, I do *w*

The two in the background seem to be thinking "Is she really supposed to be welding that? I don't think she's supposed to be welding that. I'm pretty sure it's explosive." And she's all "Chillax! I got this!"
Great expressions on them and the welding effect is pretty cool stuff too!

Phew~ thank you! I had a lot of fun working in all the little details in this one.. and the guy in the foreground, in my mind, is working on some kind of panel with some computer parts in it. I think he's a kind of mechanic? so maybe he's just checking some wire connections or soldering something together

Awesome work, as always! Never a worry about the time it took to complete it, it was absolutely well-worth the wait.
Now for my chance to gush a bit.. Coloring is amazing, as I expected! The color scheme is well-conceived and goes right along with the sort of aura I wanted to have in the piece. What makes the color really amazing is the detail and the lighting! The details you placed help not only give a really nice push/pull effect with the foreground and background, but it also really balances the composition and creates this really amazing gestalt that lets my eye wander through the details in awe, but still grounds me firmly upon whichever character I want to focus on.
The characterization you created with this piece really supports my vision of each character. Rom's puckish youthful "LOOKATWUTIMDOIN" glance back to the stern Hanse is awesome. Hanse seems to be wrapping himself about the torso so he doesn't explode as he watches Rom with a "WTFRUDOINDISTIEM" expression that, for me, just makes the interaction between the two precisely what I was hoping for. Kareena's cool disdain for the current surroundings lends itself well to the arch in the eyebrows that suggests both the expectation of shinanigans that are taking place, and not really wanting to get involved in it.
Finally, this is the sort of work that I would expect to see on sci-fi book covers, and I really love how it makes me think of the old-school sci-fi cover art that I grew up with, but at the same time, it doesn't look old or dusty at all, and has a fresh brilliance about it that lends itself very well to contemporary works that aren't afraid of technology and the wonders of digital coloring.
