You held on tightly to your two little countries, you didn’t want them to be taken away.“You can’t just take them away from me Austria! This is dirty!”
“You know the rules, now hand them over [Name].”
Sadly, after a slight war between Austria and France about the Habsburg Territory that would divide the certain European countries…
Italy and Romano would be taken away from you.
If you were to fight back you would surely lose.
The two little Italians clung to your legs tighter
“M-Mamma please-a don’t-a leave!”
“Leave-a mamma alone bastardo!”
Your oldest one Romano went up to the Austrian and started to kick and punch him in the legs.
“Roma!” You tried to scold him
“N-No mamma! Run away with-a fratello! I’ll hold him off!” Your poor little Roma was trying all his might to look strong in front of you, but as a mother you could clearly see his small tears in the corner of his eyes.
Austria picks him up by the collar as if he were an animal.
“You seem like a nuisance…I’ll just give you to that Spaniard…” He huffed in annoyance at the wiggling child in his clutches.
“MAMMA! MAMMA!” He screamed out your name no longer holding back his tears.
You quickly ran over and scooped him in your arms away from the Austrian giving him a dirty glare.
You picked up Italy as well and cuddled them close together
“I-a don’t want-a to leave you mamma…” Italy buried his face in the crook of your neck
“S-Si…Ti voglio bene mamma.”
You couldn’t take it…
Your precious little babies were being forced to be taken away from you, the tears couldn’t stop themselves from pouring out.
“I-I love you both so much…I’m sorry…”
Their cries were louder as you gently but slowly gave them over to Austria.
He carried them by their collars then looked at you.
“Now by this deal it forbids you from seeing them as long as I own them do you understand?”
Your heart felt as if it were about to break…
You could no longer see you little Italians?
No more smelling of pasta in the morning by Italy?
Or picking ripe tomatoes with Romano?
No more happy faces that tell you everyday how much they love you?
You lowered your head and gave a nod.
“Gut, this will most likely be the last time I’ll be seeing you. Guten tag.”
He carried them properly and walked away, but you could still hear the cries of your children
“MAMMA! MAMMA!”
“N-NO MAMMA NO! I-I’LL HATE-A Y-YOU IF YOU LEAVE-A US!”
You broke down onto your knees and cried into your hands
You felt so lonely without your little countries by your side, and now they both hate you, oh how you wanted to shove your foot up that Austrian’s ass and tell him off…
But you couldn’t…
You gave one last glance into the horizon where you last see their figures fade…
[TIMESKIP]
“BLOODY FROG!”
“Honhonhon~”
“Vould you all just shut up!”
“VE~! Germany Germany I want pasta!”
“Itary-kun, it is rude to interrupt Germany-san at this time…”

World meeting’s now were like this regularly
With arguing over nothing
And pointless lectures.
“Ahh~! My mama would give you a good hug if she were here Roma!”
“Honhonhon~ Mon maman would do more than hugging- *SMACK*”
France clutches his head as he is hit aside the head by Germany
“Mutti would have your head if she ever heard you say this.”
Japan sighs in the background
“My mother would refrain from speaking…”
Now everyone started to converse about their mothers and such.
“Keseseses~ mein mutti vas kinky~”
“BRUDER YOUR NOT ALLOWED TO BE HERE AND SHE VAS NOT!”
“*Yawn* My mi̱téra was very…beautiful…like a goddess…”
“My mother was a proper lady! She made the best scones aswell~”
“Zhen you can’t possibly be related to her non?”
“SHUT IT”
Spain looked at the only two people who were not talking about their mother’s…
Italy and Romano?
“Italy? Roma? Why don’t you share something about your mama?”
Everyone looked at the two Italians who were now looking at each other.
“Ve…I don’t remember-a mia mamma…” Italy’s smile now faded
“I-a hate her…” Romano grumbled
Spain made a gasp noise
“Now Roma how could you hate her if you don’t even know her?!”
“BECAUSE SHE LEFT US BASTARDO!!”
The room was silent.
His fists were clenched and Italy was softly sobbing in his hands
“If-a she was a real mother she would have-a kept us! SHE DIDN’T LOVE US!”
Now both Italians were crying, they didn’t have any memory of their mother whatsoever.
Everyone watched as the two brothers were on the floor, Romano holding Italy gently
“I-I want-a mamma fratello…” Italy whispered softly
Romano couldn’t say anything…
He wanted her as much as he did, maybe even more.
As everyone was watching them, another country in particular had decided to call a certain someone to the meeting.
*Knock knock*
Everyone turned their attention to the doors.
“Come in its open!” America yelled
You opened the doors, wondering why Austria had called you over to the meeting; I mean you weren’t really supposed to attend.
“Pardon me for barging in…” You felt extremely awkward being in the room with all the other countries eyes on you
Italy looked up from his brother’s shoulder’s and opened his brown eyes to have a small flashback come to his head.
He jumped out of Romano’s arms, jumping over the table and clinging onto your leg for dear life, afraid you might be last.
“MAMMA MAMMA!” The Italian cried into your skirt.
That voice, that hair, and those big brown eyes that looked up at you with pain
“I-Italy…?”
Oh my goodness.
It was your little Italy all grown up.
You bent down and hugged him sobbing softly,
“I-It is-a you mamma!” He sounded more joyful but he was still crying
Romano looked at the scene where his brother was hugging you, a random stranger to him.
“G-Get away from-a her fratello! lei non è mamma!” He shouted
“Si! Si! Lei è la nostra madre!”
You knew it…
They had both forgotten who you were.
This made you cry more, and to remember those words Romano had screamed to you…
“N-NO MAMMA NO! I-I’LL HATE-A Y-YOU IF YOU LEAVE-A US!”
You rose from your spot and looked at Romano
He looked angry, his face was red, and his eyes had little teardrops at the ends
“R-Roma-“
“NO! YOU CAN’T BE MAMMA! MAMMA LEFT-A US! SHE HATED US!”
Your eyes widened listening to him…
Had…had he really come up with that conclusion about you…?
Your heart ached once again
You dropped to your knees and cried
“I-I’m sorry Roma! I’m so sorry…I wish I could have protected you more…”
Everyone’s heart ached at the scene before them, especially Romano.
You couldn’t be his mother…
You were too sweet and nice to be the mother he imagined you to be when he was younger…
It was no use for you…Romano would never accept you…
“I-I love you both so much…I’m sorry…”
Romano’s eyes widened as he heard those words come out of your mouth
“I-I love you both so much…I’m sorry…”
It was you.
His mamma.
Without waiting any longer he jumped into your arms and buried his face in your shoulder.
“Mamma y-you bastardo!”
His words were muffled but clear and you couldn’t help but smile.
Italy joined in on the hug and you were sandwiched between the two brothers.
“Ti voglio bene mamma.” They both said in unison
“I love you too guys”
You were finally reunited with your little countries.

This reminds me of when I was reunited with my little sister after she left with my dad as a baby to Italy since we are Italian/Hispanic.
We reunited when she was 4. We still see my dad, but we stay with him in the summer. When I saw her again, she didn't believe that I was her sister. Like this story, she thought me and my mom hated her and left.
She's 8 now and I'm 13. She is annoying as hell, but at least she is not in some different country.
This story was AMAZING and brought great memories. YOU ARE THE BEST! I cried so many times at this.
