Description
Hello! That's a portrait I've been working on every now and then...I made the skin bright and clean on purpose, in order to be in more contrast with the worn and dirty armor; more generally, a contrast between what's inside and what's outside.
...hope you like it;

BTW, which Wacom tablet do you use? (I have an old Graphire that's driving me crazy and am looking for a new one.)

that's some pretty sweet work, mister
if you don't mind, though, I have a few critiques, too. Firstly...I read that you wanted the skin to be a contrast to the highly textured armor...which is fine, and a cool idea, but I think it would be even better if you tried to match the detail of the hand...otherwise there seems to be some sort of imbalance in the image. otherwise her face is cool, though, the somewhat expecting, prepared and self-confident expression fits her well
the hair seems a little too smooth to me, too. that makes it look really flat and takes away from the image, I think. a few slight curls and spots where the hair sticks together a little would give it more life. it would also give you the oppurtunity to play more with light and shadow there. haha, the few times I painted hair I really went down to the 1px brush, but it was fun to do
the armor looks really cool, it shows the time and attention you invested into it the textures look lovely 
I see that you gave her armor a nice cold rim light on the left. I think you could even enhance that and cast some more of the blue onto her armor to show off the complimentary contrast more
last but not least a word on the weapon...I love its shape and materials, textures and engraving look really cool, BUT....it's a bit flat because it is totally parallel to the camera, and addtionally to that she holds it perfectly upright. I think with a bit more of a tilt and some rotation it'd get a lot more depth. it does not need much, just a tad bit to indicate its 3d-ness, if that makes sense
I hope you didn't mind those critiques, I still love that piece

I agree with most of the things you mentioned, especially those concerning the hair and weapon (however, I had in mind that the weapon was going to look more stylized and strictly-placed while I was drawing it - expressing discipline, in a way). And yes, the hair could be more natural than that. Too much discipline there
