I used to have an African Spur-thighed tortoise. He died last year.

Awww, thats really sad, One of my fellows has to be sold, and im really devistated, but currently i have a hermans named Victor, and a tiny one with a deformed shell, as his previous onwer(s) kept him in a tiny, tiny tank which lead to him having a very bad shell and not growing any bigger. Hes still as big as a clenched fist.
And slightly green shelled.
We gave him some calicum powder, his shell is much better but he wont get much bigger.
Poor guy.

maybe if you put him in another setting to make him stand out more it would improve it.
