Thank you, Bill.
It took several tries to get the colors blended. It is kind of tricky with acrylics.

Have to agree with the devil lad. There's so much cold, stony life in this, you can almost hear the rumble of the car.
Another ad:
'So dark and lonesome is the road,
no place for bulk, fuss and baggage,
want a reliable car that speeds into the night?
with this car, you'll be all right.'

I love the way you capture the colors of the desert. You bring life and personality to it people usually only relegate to foresty places.

Thank you. I love the desert, especially in the evening. The whole desert Southwest is beautiful.
My side of Texas, in contrast, is covered in tall pine trees.

hmmm weird... I've never been to tx except for a stop over at the airport. I think it would be fun to drive the southwest from TX to CA though.

It is an interesting state. The East side is covered with thick pine forest. The central part has limestone hills, oak trees and clear water. The west is desert and Mountains. The panhandle is flat plains and canyons. And then there is the coast.
Even then, there are micro-ecosystems, like the lost pines near Austin, or the lost maples in the Hill Country. In the west mountains there are alpine forest high above the desert.

I went to southern California in 1980. It is a beautiful state.
I find the desert Southwest fascinating. The lower elevations are desert, but up in the mountains are forest.
