Calcarian and witch face off silently. Evil-lyn continued to pull futilely at her bonds while the group leader stared her down. His companion eyed the unconscious Teela, wondering if they were getting two for the price of one. The leader growled something to him, and the creature stiffened. The other was not for them. The leader was not sure how he knew, he just knew the evil witch had been left hanging for them.

Reaching up, the leader grasped Evil-lyn firmly around the waist. Squealing in fright, Evil-lyn jerked on her wrists. The creature assisted by pulling on her body. Exerting inhuman strength, the metal link connecting Evil-lyn's wrist chains to the long length dangling from the stone high above snapped with a dull crack. Suddenly free, the witch did the only thing she could. Snapping her head forward, she slammed her helmet into the Calcarian's face. The beast issued a surprised grunt and dropped his prize. Evil-lyn did not have long to enjoy her brief victory. Chained feet landed on the staff laying in front of the stone base. Evil-lyn's feet slid off the smooth metal sending her sprawling backward upon the base. She his hard, head slamming into unyielding rock. The helmet saved her from serious injury, but the force of the impact was more than enough to render her instantly unconscious.
