what's this technique ?

While experimenting I tried a combination of various techniques. For this (if I remember correctly) - I applied very thick oil paint that was allowed to set a bit and then used a coarse brush to create a strong brush texture in the paint. After that 'cured' for a while longer, then I sanded it down roughly and unevenly so as to retain the brush marks and then painted and sanded a couple of different layers of paint to bring out the image. I try so many different things, constantly, that I've really started to lose track of some of the things I did; even some of the things I liked that I would have liked to be able to reproduce! Anyway, hope this answers your question.
