Description Oil on Paper - 18X15
I grew up a stone's throw from the Grand Trunk Railway bridge in my hometown. In my memory, the sound of the trains on the tracks was always there, especially in the Summer for some reason.

Heavy light... I like it.

Very nostalgic. Just like the visual echoes from dream-like memories. It is always a pleasure to admire your work!

A nuclear lullaby?
The tracks are a block from my front door, I can see the trains pass from my porch.
I think they're more noticeable in the summer because doors and windows are open.

That makes total sense. - plus, the smell of the fuel and exhaust filled the air.

There was also a gas station across the street and a furniture factory half a block away, so the smells all together created quite a toxic cocktail; but I was oblivious (and probably slightly intoxicated by it all), so it all seemed 'normal'.

Maybe that cocktail helped form (or deform) your artistic vision, it's possible.
My hometown is a bit slummy, with the usual slummy smells plus the odor of red tide wafting in from the beach all summer. It's amazing how quickly one becomes acclimated to such conditions. But, one weekend away in the country and the whole process starts again.
There was a Fluff factory around the corner from me when I was young. One year it burned down and half the city smelled like toasted marshmallows for weeks. Even that got sickening after a while :]
