Well, you'll try.

Your name is (y/n), and there's been this thought in your head for a while now. It's this idea itching at your mind. A solution to the things that a hurting. It's just seems so right to you, like it's the answer. The perfect way to make the aching feeling consuming you go away.

There have been a lot of things going on recently. They aren't very good things, and you wish they'd stop. You've put in effort to try and make it stop, but it's like a domino effect. One thing happens and then something else follows it.

It probably started with your parents. They keep disappearing for weeks on end. They have great jobs to help support you, but they're always busy. They travel, or they have too much work to stay at home long. They're happy with what they're doing, so you try to support them like they do for you. That doesn't mean you don't miss when they used to make time for you. Once you became old enough to take care of yourself, they left you on your own more and more.

Your friends were the next to leave you. You try to arrange to hang out with them, but they have things to do. The things you all used to have in common no longer exist. They don't like that show anymore, or they think that place is lame. They snap at you when you try to press them about how things are with them. You talk too much. Why do you care what they do?

Your now ex boyfriend left you. You've been going steady for about a year. He comes to tell you one day that he met this really great girl at work. He still wants to stay friends with you. There's nothing wrong with you, he just found someone he liked more.

All of your relationships are crumbling down around you. You're grades at school are dropping. Teachers ask if you're okay. You're slower at work. You're boss asks if you need some time off.

You feel sick, but you don't think that it's anything time off will help. There may not be medication to take, but you've started thinking of a cure.

It's this cure that dragged you out the front door of your house tonight. The lights of the city you live in propel you forward. The tall lamps make a path to where you want to go. Dazed, you keep your feet moving over the paved sidewalk. It seems that much better if you don't think about where you're going.

The cool breeze of the night strengthens as you near the river. Goosebumps slither over your arms, but you pay them no mind.

Closer and closer to the looming structure that is your destination. The draw bridge into the next city is a beacon to you. At this time of night, few cars pass and no other persons cross your way. You're alone.

Trekking to the middle of the bridge builds a heavy feeling in your chest. It's suffocating by the time you reach the middle of the bridge. You peer over the guardrail, a fifty foot drop. Harsh waves are whipped around the supports, crashing and threateningly dark. In any other state of mind, you'd find it terrifying.

Inhale and exhale.

You carefully haul yourself onto the ledge and stand stock still facing the water. The wind is so much strong here and it whips your (h/l) (h/c) hair around your face wildly.

With one deep breath, you shuffle one foot forward. The other lifts to step. That's when...
