A prize for one of the winners of my recent giveaway on tumblr.

I was asked to draw a part of a story where Ford asks a tablet what are the digits for Pi.

The tablet analyzed what Ford asked and then beeped getting Mabel’s and Dipper’s attention. ‘The digits…’ Ford was startled when it actually started speaking and yelped in surprise accidentally dropping the tablet once more. ’…3.14159265…’ “It’s… It’s actually talking. And the digits are right.” As the tablet kept going Ford grew happy and then picked up the tablet holding it in the air in front of him as if it were treasure. “Holy hot cakes! This thing is astounding! It’s still going and it’s getting all of the digits correct!”

I would start this sort of thing by asking Ford about Moore's Law.  This is referencing Gordon Moore, who said that microchips will double their processing power every two years.  By that logic, computers would be at least 32,768 times more powerful in 2012 (when Gravity Falls took place) than they were in 1982.

I don't thin ford would be surprised at all by them. He made and has a lot of future tech on himself, so wherever he was beyond the portal, it looks like it was futuristc. Sooooooooooooo... i think he would be more like "HOW DO YOU PEOPLE EVEN FUNCTION WITH DOWNLOAD SPEEDS LIKE THIS?!"

I think his surprise and giddiness would be that this doesn't come from beyond the portal, but his own backwards home dimension. You have a good point though, he seems more like he gets tired of the slow tech progress in his home world (like when he created those new lightbulbs that wouldn't burn out.)
