That's very tragic to happen to Tamar. It was nice of what Absalom did (though whether or not it was appropriate to kill his brother depends on the person).

Yes, killing his brother I think went too far - as did Absalom's rebellion which followed after. If only David had not ignored what had happened, who knows... But yes, Absalom did a good thing honouring his sister's memory by naming his daughter after her. ^^ I guess not everyone looks at name meanings and backgrounds and stuff, but I do think it's special to be named after a specific person, e.g. a relative or a saint or someone in the Bible. It makes a special connection somehow (in my opinion). I enjoyed looking up my namesake, at least.
