Description It is so white it hurts,
the wind blows sunlight into my eyes
and I am alone in a desolate waste land.

Even the sands fly up at my already pained sight,
the glass racing to rip its way into my throat,
I am betrayed by even nature.

Life, a grinning joker,
sitting on an ace of spades,
sorry, not a full house today.
I walk away from the dealers table.
Lady luck has thrown it in this evening.

The winds of change remind me,
there are no guarantees,
no written clauses in life,
if so god is not sharing.
Selfish bastard.

The light is strong against the darkness,
but it is fading like a snubbed candle,
I always thought light was better,
but it burns, just like the dark.

I like this. The world is governed by the probabilities, the chance that adds up to fate. Very interesting connotations inherent in your word choice as well, the light contrasted with the darkness giving a fresh twist on the idea of light as 'good'. Nice work.
