DenOfTheDragon — Getting checked?!

Description Is had been a while since Thaslë reached an age of 1. Now, at 1,5 he still didn't get much bigger. His mane and tail grew so very well and it was quite a.. funny sight to see. A fool-like yearling with longer mane and tail. Really, the picture was so out of proportion. This made Dragon worried. Why didn't Thaslë grow? Was it because of the milk he was given? Did he miss certain nutrients? Was he ill? Something else perhaps? Dragon didn't know anymore so she decided to call the vet. At first it didn't look like the vet had time to visit for the next couple of days, but the day after Dragon made the call he suddely showed up. It was a nice afternoon, after-summer day. The fall would soon do its entrance, but the sun still shone a bright, warm orange-yellow over all land and living things.
'Good afternoon! Were you the one who called me yesterday? It was about a - small yearling if I remember correctly?'
'Yes, that is right. My Icogan foal, Thaslë, is 1,5 years old, but he looks like a foal with longer mane and tail... - oh, and his horns grew out well too.' When the girl mentioned the horns she noticed how the vet's face got a bit pale. Quite handy... a vet who's afraid of horns. Then how the heck does he treat cows and goats? Anyway... 'Let us go look for him then. If I had known you would visit today I would have put him in a stable or meadow. The horses roam all over at this stable, so we must be lucky if we want to find him.'
And zo, the two started walking. Every so many minutes Dragon blew a sharp whistle on her fingers, the Thaslë-whistle as Shanelle had started to call it. After 45 minutes of walking the vet got tired of it, and just when Dragon wanted him to shut his mouth she heard foorsteps - hooves, a trot. 'Damn, he's heard you...' the girl groaned.
'What's the problem with that?' the vet asked quite agitated.
'Thaslë totally detests strangers and vets too, he's going to get away on us - look. You won't be able to check him now...'
Dragon pointed and watched as Thaslë trotted by. The vet noticed as well and kept watching carefully. 'He had a very very nice trot I must say - but he is indeed very small for a yearling. Even so: I don't think he wil stay this small and he looks great - healty too. His eyes are bright and he has more than enough energy to run away from me. Beautiful colt. Don't worry about him. I think he will grow out to be a wonderfull and strong stallion later on.'
'Soooo he's just a late-bloomer?'
'That he is. Give him some time. Well, would you kindly show me the way back? We've been walking a great distance and I don't think I'm able to find the way back on my own.'
Dragon started to laugh. They had indeed come quite the way to find the young Icogan, and the walk back would be just as long. 'Let's us go then. Want a cup of coffee to gain some fuel?'

No references used on this one.
The rabbit does the thing in here, but I like the atmosphere here. No clue how I did it since I'm not to good with bright colours. Oh well, satisfied and all, so enjoy Thaslë running away from the vet in this nicee after-summer day!
