in my opinion the whole thing between sasuke and nauto seem very symbolistic of the high shcool time with to me i mean for instance, in sasuke`s case; something bad happens early on haunts you and haunts you and then someone comes along peerpressuring you to do something for whatever reason (orochimaru in this case) you freind tells you no dont do it trying to save you (naruto) and you see them as a nusance and in return fall into the peerpressure and screw your life up and possibly losing your life //////spoiler below//////
in sasukes case this was true he does lose his life as a consequince of his actions changing him and in return causing the choises that led to his death
