I'm ADHD, and Christian too. Hi.
I can't believe people are treating you this way. They can't judge you for who you are, unless they have been through the same thing, which they obviously did not.
I see my mental disability as a gift more than a curse, actually. ADHD enhances my creativity, allows me to bring full attention to my passions. Of course, that means I don't do well in school, or concentrate on my studies. rofl: Still, it is God's gift. ADHD makes my world more interesting and colourful than any other ordinary person's life. When you have a mental disability, you always have to look on the bright side of things. That's because it's a gift, not a curse. It's a special part of who you are.
This is a great picture you did, by the way. I like the colouring.

Very well done. An interesting blend of alternative, yet complimenting, colors placed in unexpected spots. Makes it really look full of emotion.
PS: ADHD child here too.
It's funny. Where you are from, it seems to take forever? Where I am from, they slap the ADHD label on any child, just because. Many of them don't have it, yet get medications for it (that they don't need). From one extreme, to the other.

I love the mix of colors in this, like the blue in the skin and the red on the clothes.

I thought it was Percy at first then I read the description (like usual). Though recently my mom said I have ADD not ADHD because ADHD is mostly fake and they give medicine just for money while you don't need it at all. But I love how you're parents were trying to what was best for you, moving around and such.

A couple years ago (I believe I was in the 5th or 6th)I made this analogy to explain what its like to be ADD (and now my mom uses it all the time…)…:
"Your brain is like a corporate office building; everyone is in their cubicles doing their own thing, and everything is running smoothly. A new task comes in that needs to be done now, but whatever the other thing(s) was also needs to be done. Everyone on that floor of the building get confused and turned around about what needs to be done. Remember this is only one floor of the building, this is happening on a grand scale, multiple times, all at once, .
Then the fire alarm goes off, and everyone just gets more confused and jumbled up. They knowwhat they need to do, just not in what order and how. Some just bolt out of the building, while other need to finish that. one. last. thing. before they can go, which snowballs into everything. And then in the middle of it all it turns out that it was a false alarm, but some people are out of the build, others are probably halfway around the world by now, while the others are still frantically working, being even more confused by the people trying to get them to move it.
This is what its like to just be given a few simple tasks”
Now throw giftedness (which complicates everything) and a severe anxiety disorder most likely stemmed from lifethreatening food allergies on top of that. Fun.

It kinda sucks, but at the same time its almost a good thing. Out of curiosity, what state do you live in?

Oh, sorry for my ignorance (sometimes I forget people on the internet live in other countries.). Anxiety sucks... sometimes I really hate myself for being nervous/sqeemish, and then I remember that I have a medical disorder... I'm allergic to eggs and tree nuts.

Ok, I figured that, considering its quite common. I'm just tree nuts, I'm good with peanuts. The most difficult thing in the world is trying to explain to people that peanuts do NOT grow on trees, they are a legume, similar to beans. They are essentially hard beans.
My one sparkly red nail on my left ring finger that I painted in history yesterday is very distracting when I'm typing.

Brain disorders are hard to define, because there is a range for everything. It's not like a flu virus that invades your body, it's a way that your brain is which makes it hard for you to function.
There is no single anwser. Sometimes, medication can make problems worse. Sometimes, they help. I need my meds to function.
It's different for every person.

Thank you for the favorite* you gave me a while ago. I'm glad you got help after so much struggle. You are lucky to have such caring parents. I don't have parents who fought for me and now I am faced with getting help and finding out what is wrong with me.
I have great friends now though, so I also lucky.

You know, when I read that poem I thought it was something you found on the internet or in a school book or something, but then I saw the bottom of your message that both the art and poem is by you. THAT IS A DAMN GOOD POEM! You know what you should do? since it sadly is so few that read the artists comments, and especially because its a long comment, you should post this one more time as a text. whether you use that dA text thing where you also could use your drawing here as the icon (if you know what I mean), or if you make something in photoshop. I've seen alot of text art pieces where they uses black backgrounds and white text, and some chosen words in red. I think maybe that would fit very well with this poem. And you really got a story to tell here, made me shed a tear even though I knew most of it already!
You really are a talented artist AND a writer, yeah and not to forget story teller and story maker. You should become an author and illustrate your own books. you would really become successful, I can swear on it!!! I wish you and your family the best of luck! keep up the good work! Proud to have you as my friend! <3
