Description
Pre) Selkies establish control in Ancient Ireland/Doggerland before and after the Comet Strike of 12,800 BCE. After impact, Ireland is too dangerous for the Selkies. They migrate to Norway to where the fish survived.
1) Selkies migrate with the Finn's from Norway to the Orkney Islands, settling in the hidden abandoned Celtic Fae submerged islands. (Including Hether Blether)
2) Selkies settle along the northern islands of Orkney and Shetland. They settle along the north shores of the barren rocky shores of Scotland, undisturbed by humans. Later, a few bands of Selkies settle on the western shores of Ireland.
3) Selkies resettle in Finolkaheem to escape the Fomorians. Ireland is abandoned.
4) Selkies begin interbreeding with early humans and Fomorians. They enter the mythological cycle of human consciousness. Selkies become overpopulated in the Orkneys and Shetlands.
5) Selkie hybrids migrate back to Ireland with their families during the Norman Invasion of 1169 CE. Mainly settling in Northern Ireland.
6) Seal-folk settle in County Mayo, migrating west (Account of Micheal Corduff of Iorrus).
7) Hybrids & Selkies settle in Galway (Aran Islands). New name is applied to seal-like merfolk: Roane. The Roane encounter the Merrows.
8) The Roane migrate to County Kerry. Many hybrid families either travel to England or to America, by the late 1800s.
9) The Roane joins the Merrows in Tir fo Thuinn, bringing enchanted humans and hybrids to the 'Otherworld.'
Post) Selkies establish themselves in Iceland and travel to Northern Canada by the 1700s. Selkies that migrated to America seem to have settled mainly on the western coastline of Washington to Alaska. And eastern coastline of Maine to Nova Scotia (Ancient Scottish Lands).
By the Early 1800s, there were cases of Seal-folk in the Pacific; but they are not like the selkies in Northern European. It is likely that these groups migrated through the Artic to the Pacific; as Selkies are not found in the warmer waters of this world.
