Description
Wherever there's treasure, there's sure to be unscrupulous characters around to swipe it. And boy, do Bandits fit that description! Bandits will do anything for a quick coin, especially body checking their foe! If they swipe any treasure, Mario has one turn to KO them. Otherwise, the Bandit will make off with their pillage, as well as any Fruit they would have rewarded. And their own boss has a unique way to punish underperforming Bandits...

Interestingly, the first appearance of the standard Bandit in the Mario franchise is Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island (later re-released as Super Mario Advance 3 on GBA and Wii U Virtual Console). Since then, Bandits have come, gone, come, and gone again from a few spin-offs of the Mario franchise. In the context of the Paper Mario series, Bandits appeared in the N64 game and The Thousand Year Door. Strangely, on top of getting off the bus 1 game before the big change (Super Paper Mario), they didn't show up in Paper Jam, despite Mario & Luigi Dream Team also having Bandits. In the DMZ timeline, meanwhile, a singular Bandit named Wispy only showed up in the Recut of the 3DS game. This model sheet, meanwhile, is for their appearance in an upcoming fangame topic.
