Description My first (and main) Guild Wars character:

Drake of Elona

Dervish

Age:Unknown (Immortal)

Drake grew up as a simple farmer in Elona. He was orphaned, forced to work for whoever would take him in. He was a rarity due to his pale skin, and he was often chastised for it. As such, he made few friends in his earlier years.

One day, his village was raided by corsairs, and he tried to hold them back with a scythe he used to harvest the wheat. Before he was overwhelmed, a group Sunspears happened upon the scene and saved his life. They took him under their wing, and taught him in the ways of the Dervish. He was fascinated, and took the scythe he used on that fateful day as his weapon.

He soon went on an expidition across the seas to Tyria, where he helped rid the world of the Undead Lich. On his travels, he was joined by a warrior named Tern. They became friends, and saved each other's hide on numerous occasions.

One night they were attacked by a rogue necromancer. As they fought, the rogue used his magic to rip the blood from Drake. He tried to use it to focus a powerful spell on him, but was confused as it also targeted Tern. Drake was able to block the spell and capture the necromancer, who asked if they were brothers. They decide to tie him up and gag him so he doesn't start spouting other 'odd questions.'

They make their way to the Ring of Fire island chain, where they are attacked by undead creatures. It is then that the unnamed necromancer proves his trust, destroying the enemies easily and saving the adventurer's lives. In a combined effort, they are able to slay the Lich, who's dieng words tell them that the two brothers would die by his master's hand. It is that conformation that leads Drake and Tern to realize that they truly are related.

After their return to Elona, the group begin their climb in the ranks of the Sunspears. They are sent on another mission in Cantha, where they are tasked with finding a cure to a strange disease. They are accompanied by a grand master ranger named Altair, his apprentice assassin named Ghost, and a ritualist initiate, who did not speak to anyone. They soon find out about the rise of Shiro, and must find a way to unite the Luxons and Kurzicks under the same banner to fight him off. As Tern, Altair and the necromancer go to Cavalon, Drake takes Ghost and the ritualist, whom they began to call Initiate, to House zu Heltzer.

There, Drake hears of the Black Moa, a killer bird said to be terrorizing traders. He sets off in the night to hunt it, leaving Ghost and Initiate alone. After finding it, he prepares to kill it, but then notices a strange intelligence in it's eyes. He ends up taming it, and going back to camp happily, but returns to see his companions being held hostage by a group of Luxon raiders. Drake begins fighting luxon warriors single handedly, but begins to be overwhelmed. The fight is disrupted, however, as a group of onis attacks, attacking the moa on sight, which survives and flees. As Drake rallies the Luxons to fight with him, a stray oni attacks Ghost and Initiate, clawing out the ritualist's eyes and grabbing Ghost, beginning to drain the life from him. Drake finishes off the onis around him, sees this happening, and as he calls out to his friends, he is slashed in the back by one of the surviving Luxons, who takes him to Cavalon, leaving the other two to fend for themselves.

In Cavalon, he is interrogated violently by the Luxons, who hate him for helping the Kurzicks. It's not long before Tern, who has gained considerable renown amongst the Luxons, finds out about his brother being held captive, and frees him. They meet up with the rest of the group, which had grown increasingly stronger. After months of work, they end up getting a temporary alliance between the Luxons and Kurzicks, and take the fight to Shiro.

After fighting their way through hordes of minions, they finally reach Shiro. Drake charges forward without warning anyone else, invoking the form of Balthazar. The others try to help, but are banished by Shiro, and are forced to watch as Drake fights alone, against the teachings of the Sunspears. Although Drake is able to fend for himself, Shiro proves stronger, slashing his right eye and leaving a festering wound. Prepared to end it there, Shiro does not notice Initiate break the prison, and his friends protect Drake, and they defeat Shiro.

With Drake on the verge, the necromancer, who had gotten stronger from a close encounter with a shiroken, heals him, but there is a permanent scar on Drakes face, and he can barely see out his right eye.

They return to Elona, and it becomes evident that Drake has lost his connection with the gods. As the leader of the sunspears, Kormir, brings about Nightfall, Drake and his friends set out to stop the rise of Abaddon. They meet the acquaintance of a rich Elementalist by the name of Rand and a Mesmer named Jack, who show them a way to defeat Abaddon: invoking the power of the 5 gods. Drake is uneasy about this, worrying that they have forsaken him. They go into the Realm of torment, where they clear out the Margonites from the temple.

However, they find out it was a trap set by Jack, who is a mortal servant of Dhuum. They meet the ressurected Lich and Shiro, who attack them ruthlessly. Drake fights valiantly alongside his friends, despite his prayers going unanswered. Drake is the one to deal the finishing blow to Shiro, but his scythe blade is destroyed in the process. He takes the staff that remains from his weapon and uses that as a weapon, but he loses it in the fight against Abaddon, which is ultimately decided by Ghost, Tern and Initiate, who are able to overwhelm Abaddon with brute strength.

As the energy and knowledge flow out of Abaddon as he dies, Kormir uses the power she got from the Gods to take control of the power, becoming a God. However, no one noticed a strand of that power enter Drake, felt betrayed by the Gods after risking his life for them and giving him no reward.

Drake is given the rank of leaderof the Sunspears, but declines, resigning from the order completely, which brings shock to everyone, especially his brother. Drake leaves one day without telling anyone, going back to Tyria alone. He makes his way North, trying to find purpose in his life now that he is forsaken by the gods themselves. He almost succumbs to the cold, but is saved by an eccentric dwarf named Kilroy Stonekin, who bring him to a race of warriors known as the Norn. He lives them for many months, training to fight without the use of weapons or blessings from the gods. He learns to hunt with his bare hands and becomes a true survivor, earning the trust of the Norn.

After becoming sure in his own strength, he thanks the Norn and his newfound friend Kilroy, and makes his way to House zu Heltzer. On the trail, he meets his moa again, and travels with him. Drake becomes a mercanery, fighting on the side of the Kurzicks mostly. He becomes renowned for his fighting prowess, which seems to continuously grow. One skirmish, as he is fighting a strong group of luxons alone, on the verge of losing, the power he gained from Abaddon's death awakens inside of him, and he dispatches them easily.

However, he became too powerful too fast, and is branded dangerous, power whiplashing those around him, causing the maiming of the moa. In a search for a way to contain it his powers, Drake goes into the Fissure of Woe, where he helps in the war against Menzies. It is there that he learns that he is a mixture between a god and a human, and an armorer crafts him a suit of armor out of materials found in the Mists. This allows him to control his abilities, which he use to defeat further darknesses that come unto the world, by his strength alone.

Despite being very friendly towards others, he tends to be fairly condescending, looking down at other humans in pity. He is also quick to anger; many a time have people laughed at him for wearing a 'dress', and many a time have said people run away with a few broken bones.

He used to be proficient in enacting the power of the 5 gods, however after being forsaken, and eventual ascension into a demigod status, Drake relies on his own powers, which as of late have manifested in the use of obsidian shards, much like the material his armor and scythe are made from.

Enjoy!

LOL, I figure he would ^^ I didn't want to color him though, to reflect on his drab outlook on life. And, although hoods make the dervish, I wanted to try making him look awesome without it XD
