Yep, definitely progress from general Anime style into something that seems more your own. And don't worry, you'll improve, if you keep practising.
Some advice, if you'd like some - even if you like drawing Anime style, drawing from nature will help you improve a lot too, especially when it comes to perspective, proportion, and anatomy. Being able to draw well from nature is the basis for everything else, even a style as stylised as Anime. It will also help a lot in developing your very own style.
