Slightly abstracted, limited-palette rendition of a view from my window in the 3rd floor, with a couple plants in the foreground and the other side of the street in the background.


I feel like I might have overworked this one a little bit, or maybe it was a result of trying to work from dark to light, which is not the usual way. Blocking in the darks with the large round brush was fun, though.

Lovely composition and technique! It's interesting you mention working from dark to light because my favourite element of this painting is how you have the semi-transparent green overlaying the dark tones in the plants.

I did use a little bit of white gouache there. The green would not have shown like it does otherwise.
