Description
It is actually named "BlasΓ©" which is just a french word.I fell in love with this picture of Carey Mulligan doing a Twiggy-inspired photo shoot for Wonderland magazine. I have one more from the same photo shoot I'd like to draw one of these days.
I spent the better part of my morning today working on that blouse.. 5 hours to be exact and it was brutal. I chose this reference for many reasons and as always, it kicked me in the pie hole.
Also, call me crazy but I'm actually giving this drawing away as a prize on my Facebook fan page at facebook.com/disdaindespair to a lucky winner from my Like list. I made a promise that this Fall season I'd give away a drawing intended for my portfolio and I'm pretty good at keeping my word. Thank you, Angelica! When I saw the photograph I thought wow! I HAVE TO draw this. As I start working on the little gems on her blouse I realized I was in over my head hahaha.. luckily it came out pretty good. I made up a lot of the stuff because I was getting dizzy starring at the picture.

Yeah, I thought they came out pretty good. They're not all the way to my satisfaction-- I guess I have such high standards for myself haha it keeps me on my toes. Haha.. it's okay I usually don't even pay attention how anything is faved-- as long as it is faved I am more than appreciative.

Haha.. thank you, Alyssa! Yes, it only took 12 hours because the only details in this picture were chunks of the blouse-- the face is either black or white and random highlighted strands for the hair. Half the time was spent on the blouse. I'm not sure if you are on my like list on my facebook fan page, but if you are-- you might just win it on Halloween.
