I need to come up with more creative titles...

Looking back at my notes from last semester made me want to try a few things. I made the eyes slightly bigger than from her original sketch and dabbled a little with costume. (My roommate is a seamstress, right- and is super incredible at coming up with designs and patterns. It's super intimidating but I love how effortless she makes it all look! So it made me want to practice- especially since it's another one of those things I struggle with.) My professor also talked about the use of value, even when doing light sketches and stuff. So I isolated her from the simple background color, just to make it a tad more readable.

This started as an exercise to get me back into the groove for character designing and was borrowed from a sketch I started a few weeks earlier. (The sketch is here-- but a rather stiff version haha) I think I'm happy with how she turned out and might have to start branching out on costume design a bit more. It's been fun [:

What are some things you guys do when coming up with costuming? Do you look online? From life? Imagination?
