So, if Trigon travels dimension, impregnating random women so he can then use his 'children' as a gateway through which to conquer that world, then what basically happened here is this:
Serena's mum has a meeting with Trigon (possibly Trigon disguised as her husband) and winds up pregnant. Serena is born, becomes Sailor Moon, all that stuff. After a battle (or during) Rei starts tearing ehr down and tormenting her like she normally does and Serena finally has enough of it, getting really angry and unleashing Trigon on her world. How can the Sailor Scouts stop this? They probably can't. In fact, I can see Serena using them as housing for the Seed of Trigon (Raven did this in I think the second or third time she turned evil in the comics), making them like her to help in Trigon's conquest.
