Description Yet again, the picture ruins the piece.

This is a combination of techniques I've been wanting to play with, I think it turned out adorable.

The centerpiece is a chandelier piece glued onto a pale pink rose quartz heart. I have them connected by a link also, in the event the glue should fail, you wouldn't lose half the pendant

The tassel consists of various swarovski crystals and fire polished glass, with fire polished glass also along the chain.

I love this necklace, do you happen to have any more instock? I'm interested in buying one. Thanks.

I don't currently have this particular heart bead. I could make the same necklace with a different heart, or try to find one that's similar.

Thanks

Do you have a photo of the replacement bead? I love the necklace and have a co-worker also interested in one for herself. We wouldn't mind a replacement as long as we could see the bead first. Thanks

I don't currently have a replacement, but I will look next time I visit my bead supply store. I most certainly can get you a photo before hand, I'd want to make sure you like it first

I will get back with you as soon as I make any progress.

No it doesn't It looks great. I'm jealous, I can never get that kind of asymmetry to work for me. (Either in styling or wearing!) But I'm thinking I might have to try it yet again, because I really like this setup, and I have a poor single little earring I need to make into a necklace anyway... *ponders* Might not have enough color. Hrm...

I splurged and bought some nifty turkish silver rings at a bead show yesterday with asymmetry in mind 'cuz I liked your doubled chain effect and it's all your fault

Ha ha ha look what I've started.

I like the double chain.... I keep doing that without even thinking about it. It just happens.

very nice! good work. What kind of glue do you use?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

DesireeMorte In reply to midKnightMuse [2007-12-20 00:33:30 +0000 UTC]

I mostly use Arlene's Jewel-It. It dries nice and clear. I'd like to find some others though, because I use glue for various materials.

midKnightMuse In reply to DesireeMorte [2007-12-20 01:40:12 +0000 UTC]

I'm not familiar with the Arlene's Jewel-It, but have used a product called G-S Hypo cement, comes in a small tube. The key is to let it set for a few minutes before attaching whatever you want to. And I have also used two-part epoxy. They both dry real clear. I will try the Arlene's sometime, see what I think. There is a product out there that is just for jewel bonding- I just can't think of it right now. I will get back to you on that. Good luck on your glue adventures!.

lol agreed. I'm not sure when it hit me, but it did. Several years ago, I would have never thought I'd like asymmetry. Now I can't get enough.

I've underestimated the bead wrapping in the past. I can't figure out why it looks so spiffy...... I sometimes skip it because it's time consuming, but am almost always happier with the final product when I do it.

Thanks

Practice is key. You're worried about scratching up the wire? I scratched the heck out of stuff until I worked out a technique.

It's worth trying though
