I wanted a stylised Augurey I could use as a basis for VoldemortWins! banners, Delphi's tattoo, etc. This was done first in pencil, then postworked in Photoshop.

Seriously, it's interesting that he allowed her symbol to be all over the place. You would think, if not on ego grounds, then on political ones, he might not have wanted to do that. He obviously felt very, very secure in the loyalty of the Augurey (assuming it actually was Delphi - as you know from my meta on the subject, I think it could also be Bella).

Maybe at this point he considered it his family's symbol (created and chosen one not merely based on the Gaunts whom he considered beneath his notice -and if his ego was inflated beyond capacity believing that he got higher even from his most illustrious ancestor

Thank you! At first I was just going to use a stylised phoenix or something for this purpose, because they both have the head and tail features, so theoretically that would be good enough. But then, I thought, Scorpius knows something's up when he sees it, which means it needs to be more obviously Augurey-ish (particularly that vulture-like shape of the neck and head, I thought). So it all went from there.
