Chapter 1

10 years later

A cry was heard through the deserts of Egypt, a young girl had been born to a high ranking family in the Upper Kingdom of Egypt. In the world of spirits, Rukario turned and looked in the direction the sound was coming from "What is that sound and why do I hear it?" he thought to himself telepathically as he started to head to the sound but as he was about to touch the barrier of the spirit and real world. Anubis called out to him and grabbed him leading him away from the barrier "I need you help with something, Rukario…" he spoke as Rukario nodded "Of course Master Anubis…but did you hear that sound." Anubis looked at him "It is nothing…please come with me." He said and Rukario nodded but as he followed Anubis, his heart was aching because he could hear the cries more and more clearly as he moved farther from the barrier. Anubis watched as Rukario continued to look back at the barrier before he telepathically connected with Osiris "He is hearing her cries, Osiris and he is being drawn to them like a moth to a flame…I don't know how long we can keep them separated…" he sighed as Osiris answered "Do what you can…but I am afraid he will have to learn about her way before either of them are ready…We will have to tell him the truth soon." Anubis nodded as he looked down at Rukario who was looking at the floor but not without glancing back at the barrier every now and then.

Later that night, Rukario was sitting, watching the moon on the top of the Great Pyramid when suddenly he heard the voice of Osiris in his head "Come to the Looking Globe Chamber of my palace…Rukario." The spirit vanished and reappeared in the room with Anubis and Osiris "Yes…" he asked as they turned to him "Rukario…there has been something we have been keeping from you for a while now…You know that cry you have been hearing…it belongs to the one who appears in the looking globe." Rukario walked over and peered inside of the globe. A small child lies sleeping in her mother's arms "Who is she?" he asked as he leaned over and peered at her "You remember when I told you there was something special within you…well here it is… She is your shaman." Rukario stepped back "A baby is my SHAMAN! How can this be…you knew she was calling for me…that she would be born this very day and you never spoke it to me…" tears were appearing in Rukario's eyes "Those dreams I had were about her…she is so young, beautiful and innocent…why didn't you mention this to me!" Osiris spoke "those dreams you had are not certain…but can come to be if you are reckless." Rukario looked back at the god of the spirit world and growled "So what am I to do…She is my Shaman and she will continue to call me to her…Can't I go to her!" Anubis spoke "NO…she is too young and you are not aware of the powers you possess…you could harm her." Rukario glared at the floor "She calls to me day and night…ever breath from her body brings pain and worry to my heart…yet I can't see her…I can't even speak with her! It's not fair!" Osiris looked at the jackal spirit "I know you will not be able to keep yourself from going to her…so I must force my hand…Dormatius Sleepus!" Rukario looked down and saw he was within a seal "NO…you can't do this! TATIANA…she needs me!" he called as he turned to Anubis and Osiris "Not now she doesn't…your powers are too great for a new shaman or any shaman for that matter." Rukario growled "As long as she can fall or hurt herself she needs me!" Osiris closed his eyes "I'm sorry, Rukario but you shall sleep till she needs you and is ready for you! I seal you within the Ankh Staff which you wield…" Rukario tried to fight it but it was too much as he was pulled into the center of his ankh staff by a red light "Until the time comes for you and Tatiana to except your destiny…I'm sorry you are like a son to me…and it pains me to do this…" he walks over to the staff "but it is to keep you two safe." As he picks it up and turns to Anubis "Take this to the magic chamber…and seal it there." Anubis nodded as a quiet telepathic "NO!" came from the staff as it shook.

In the living world, a baby woke up and began to cry loudly "RUUURRUUU…WHAAA!" the mother did all she could but the child was not easy to quiet down; it was as if a piece of her had been sealed away.
