Art Trade with PPG2009

I haven't drawn anything related to The Jungle Book in a while as I drew the characters from that movie in other drawings and I have done one for my old friend before she deactivated let alone someone's cast of it yet.

The Jungle Book was Disney's last movie when Walt Disney himself was still alive at the time. He died in 1966, a year before the film was released and thus this was also the end of The Silver Era which began in 1950 after Cinderella saved Disney from bankruptcy during the events that took place during WW2.

Then film itself was one of my staples of childhood and as an adult, I saw its s a metaphor for a kid leaving his childhood behind to enter into the grown up world that is to come(like a boy becoming a man). Or alternatively, replace "jungle" with "childhood home" and "man village" with "new home" and the story would be metaphorically the same.

While VASTLY different from Kiplings' original take, it is still a great movie with a great score, fun characters and a great story in of itself.

PPG2009 asked me to draw a scene from it that I think would be interesting for me to do. I decided to draw out the scene where Mowgli meets King Louie after the Banderlog Monkeys capture him out of Baloo's sight and brings him to their leader. It is from there after the monkeys put him down, that King Louie offers a deal: he can help him stay int he jungle as long as Mowgli can teach him how to use Man's Red Fire so he can be human.

Also, I Wanna Be Like You is one of my favorite songs in the movie bar none. Such a jazzy number.

The characters she used for her recast were Discord(MLP) as King Louie and Hiro Sohma(Fruit Baskets) as Mowgli and I figured it'd be fun to do as I love Discord. Though ironically Discord was a better fit as Kaa in the first two appearances, but then he became a much more neutral character.

I forgot to do the patterns on the throne so I'm kind of a little mad abut it, but as far as anything I'm glad with how it came out as I had a little trouble with the background with the leaves due to how much green/yellowish green there was.
