^(Ignore title please. XD)My favorite teal-haired man is back~
This was kind of a test run for a program a friend suggested; Paint tool Sai.
ANDOMGIT'SAWESOME.
I love the painty look Photoshop can't give. Sai lets me blend colors a LOT easier, which is nice.
While I won't abandon Photoshop, Sai is definitely worth the hype. I'll be keeping it. XD
Anyway, this pic started on ArtGrounds as lineart, then colored later. It's Malachi in an outfit you've seen before. However, while the original plan was to make this his "past" outfit, I've just decided to make this his default. (He also has a long coat with it) I've actually revamped all my characters to fit a more modern setting. You'll see them sometime.
But yeah. I quite like how this came out. It was fun to do and nice work for an experiment.

What's funny is that a friend recently showed me SAI as well and I'm quite pleased with what I can do with it. Gave me a new depth of realism in simplified form that I was unable to do before.
And it's interesting. Even though I've seen characters with multi-colored hair, I've never seen facial hair like the beard that follows suit... though it's only logical. Funny how something so logical can be so weird/uncommon.

Yeah, it's really nice. Its pen pressure isn't quite to my liking (I enjoy photoshop's quite a bit more, since I'd rather the brush resize with my pressure rather than the opacity change) but I can deal.
Haha, it is a little odd, huh? But I suppose it really is for the sake of ease to animators and manga artists. I wouldn't bother matching the colors if I was pressed on time, like most people are. XP

You gotta learn what the settings do to your brush, but other than that, it's pretty easy to use. Sai is like a better version of Open Canvas' watercolor tool. XD
