Description
This literally ate my soul away. I can't tell you how many hours I spent on this, just to realize at the end that the pattern on the background is effin' crooked. I ended up so frustrated when I saw it! Then I thought that it can't be perfect. I did straight with the colored pencils, without any guidelines, so.. it's more than enough for me. I never do such detailed backgrounds and my hand was shaky at the end.This was inspired by a poster for "Job cigarettes" done by Alphonse Mucha, one of my favorite artists ever. I have to try to make more art-nouveau pictures....

I honestly don't have a method for drawing curls... I guess I just started by drawing a spring-shaped line and then I go from there...

Oh wow! This came out beautifully! You can really see all the time you put into her hair and the background. That fleur-de-lis pattern must have taken hours! And her hair, it's so soft and shiny!
I like it all so very much. You really captured the softer, more melancholy side of Juri.

Yep! I had to notice, I think my professors wouldn't forgive me if I couldn't recognize one. I think the vulnerability fits her. I always thought that, at the base of it all, she was a very vulnerable character but her pride built a facade of strength around her.
