i hate when i run out of nibs, i used up my last crowquills and unforunatly cant get them nowere here in Portugal, im using deleter nibs now wich arent bad

Even when I don't know what I'm doing, i'm doing it right! The last time I was at the art staore I picked up 20 or so...the girl looked at me like I was a bit silly. Haha...awesome. Thanks Bats!

I usually can only get 2 pieces at the very most before they lose their shape. If it's a full comic page, only 1.

I see. I didn't even know they wear down. been using the same one for years. thought I don't ink much.
How big is a usual ful comic page btw? and how do people get them into the computor? camera or super large scanner or what?

I didn't know either. It was in my frustration, I would replace the nibs frequently. You know when it's done.
Most comic board is 11X17 inches.... For the single characters like these I use 11X14 pen and ink bleedproof paper.
Most scanners are 8.5X11 or so...you need to double scan and line up the two halves. I used to take pictures of my inks, then I picked up a fairly inexpensive scanner, so do that now.

I'm not sure if nibs are supposed to wear down that fast. Not sure thought. maybe you are working with cheap nibs or well I don't know maybe they are supposed to.
Anyway ever tried one of these [link] ?

I've looked at those...never tried them tho. The nibs are fairly cheap $1.50 each...well, I guess it can add up in a week! Oh, and I forgot to mention there are also large format scanners too. That's ideally what I should have...soon

yea I am aware of large scanners and you had a large format printer didn't you?
I'm just wondering if a good quality camera on a statif is a better option pricewice and for versatility to one of those scanners, except if your making a professional studio out of it or a hobby one to resemble a pro office.
anyway would you mind taking a picture of your various nibs you use? I'm really interested in what kind of shapes and sizes
