I am an FTM who really wants to be with a girl...
But I feel that because of my trans status, it'll never happen :/

Eh, I don't think I would ever actively seek this but I don't have a problem with it. If I find myself falling for one, then so be it.

ST, you are awesome. We need more girls who like FTMs. Im an FTM and my biggest problem is finding a girl whos ok with that. I always end up finding creepy bisexuals who wanna treat me like Im both male and female instead of just male.. >_<;;

I compleatly understand this. The guy that I like is FTM, and its not really about the mind or body aspect, I just like the person.

I'm an FtM and I want to be with a girl.
I, like boys too, I'll be honest. But the only thing I want more than to be a real girl, is to be her girl. The thing is though, she doesn't know I'm FtM and she doesn't even want to be with me as a boy. =/

I love this comment. {Though i'd suggest adding "As long as they too f**king want us to f**k them", just to avoid doubt on the consent part}

I agree, but some people have to keep things like this a secret.
Where I live people won't hire you just because of rumors.
I know it's not right and that it sucks, but sometimes you have to
hide things just to get by without harassment.
I wish people would just stop acting like hateful children and grow up
enough to see that people are people and they're gonna love who they're gonna love...
.....sorry I think I just ranted on you

It's ok. Ranting builds character, lol.

Female to Male. So, essentially, a girl who got a sex change.

FtM basically means it's a female bodied person who wants to be male bodied... The progress wasn't mentioned, so I don't know what they're looking for.

I dunno.
I'm assuming it's post-op considering most FtMs want to be men and seem to strive towards having that operation, so it'd be kinda predicted.

For the man's body and woman's mind, I assume. Obviously the ST is sexually attracted to men physically, but wants them to understand her in a way no man can. I'm 100% straight, but it does make sense to me. Wouldn't like it myself of course - I like 'em 100% male. x3

Not necessarily. There's two FTM that I'm really attracted to and would date in a heartbeat - I view them as men. If I dated a FTM, I wouldn't consider it a lesbian relationship.
That's kind of the point with FTM... they're born with the body of a female, female is their sex but their gender is male. In their minds, they're male not female.
Wanting a FTM for the mans body wouldn't really work out - the two FTM I know of have had top surgery and take testosterone to make them more masculine, but downstairs they've still got the parts they were born with. One of them said they wouldn't get the lower surgery until there's a procedure available that really works.
And wanting a FTM for the "womans mind" wouldn't work out either because they're not women in their minds, if they were then they wouldn't be FTM, they'd just be women.

No, you did have the label right. FTM is both transexual and transgender.
Transgender is anyone who goes against what is the norm for their sex - like, transvestites, cross-dressers, transexuals, drag kings/queens etc would all fall into the transgender catagory.
But transexual gets more specific than that, it's a specific type of transgender person - it's when your gender (which is a mental thing) is opposite to your your sex (which is physical). Someone who feels they were born into the wrong body, whether it be a male who feels he's really a female or a female who feels she's really a male.
My point was basically that the appeal of FTM wouldn't be so the person could be with someone who had "the body of a man but mind of a female" - because a FTM is male in their mind, so they don't have the mind of a female (and the body thing would depend on whether they were pre-op or post-op and what surgery they had and all that).

You've got it the wrong way round. Their minds are male not a woman's mind at all.

sunkissin In reply to FearlessEagle [2011-02-18 00:16:25 +0000 UTC]
I.. don't really know much on the subject so I don't understand. Isn't this about an operation or.. something else? xD
π: 0 β©: 1
FearlessEagle In reply to sunkissin [2011-02-19 14:10:04 +0000 UTC]
Operations can be part of it. Often is with a lot of FTM's there is also hormones involved so that they can deepen voice and so on.
Basically it's someone who is born in a female body. However normally (although I don't speak for all trans people here) they experience the feeling of being trapped in the wrong body from a very early age. The first years of being aware of their own surroundings and thoughts. I know I was always aware I was 'wrong' just when you're a child it's hard to place what is wrong. And basically they grow up feeling this way, hit puberty and often spiral into depression because they're physical bodies do not align to their brain. So...a male in a females body.

I like my men manly too. x3 I don't want them to sit there and whine about feelings with me, I'd like a bit of an argument.
I guess I was thinking "man's body = man's body, regardless if it's an operation".
I dunno.
Seems odd x:
