Why would you want to make someone hate you? I've known other people who have done this and for all my understanding of human nature, this concept eludes me the most. As a denizen of this planet that we are all forced to live on, you are entitled to be here just as much as the next person along with all the equal rights and emotions afforded to all human beings. Sadly, you are not alone in this but you also need to realize that you are not a freak. You're a human being, just like me and the other posters here and everyone else on this planet for that matter. I truly hope you find the solace you are seeking.

i know what you mean, ST. alot of people feel like it would just be easier if they were alone all the time. but i promise there are good people out there who are worth alot. it's hard to believe sometimes and they can be hard to find, but it's so worth it in the end. just try to be open and unjudging. you honestly can't survive alone forever. i've learned that over the years

I'm kinda the same way, I've begun pushing people away again because I'm tired of lying just so I don't offend them.. I'm happier being alone anyway, so it doesn't really matter.

Barriers just make you miserable, in my experience. There's always going to be someone who'll hate you, but there's people who'll love you just the same.
Freaks are the best in my (freaky) opinion.

I used to be that way...I was too sensitive as a kid so even my parents told me I had to become more callous, it really hurt when they told me that, but I chose to hate everything/one and distance myself from life. It was okay for a while, it made things better, but now that I'm older looking back on things...it makes me really sad. I have very few photos of me with friends or family, not even my dogs, which I miss horribly...and when my friends pull out photos of themselves with their families at gatherings...or tell me stories that I've missed out on, it's really harmful to my psyche. I tell myself that it's not, because I have to be strong about it...but it's really hard now because I realize that I really can't make time stop.

I even have a husband and my barriers put us into a lot of fights. I don't even know how he puts up with me half the time...or if that's just me trying to push him away too. So yeah, just, think about what you're doing. Good luck.

I feel like you would really connect with a book called Clockwork Prince (sequel to Clockwork Angel) by Cassandra Clare, ST.

Imagine what that frustration will do to you when someone loves you anyway. How will you react then? You can't control how people feel, just how you do.
