Well, I guess you'll hate me for this, but...
I've been browsing through all the secrets. Awhile ago, I happened to go a few pages too far, and I saw the thumbnail of this secret. The art got me excited about reading the secret. I have know clue who you are, so I have no reason to lie to you about the quality of your work. But from my experience, unless you're fishing for compliments or you just gave the other person a compliment, the compliments you receive will be sincere.

Just take the compliment as it is, even if you think they're wrong. They like it. Shouldn't that encourage you to improve more for yourself?

I think you have self esteem problems that you need to address.
It's unhealthy to be so suspicious of something that is suppose to make you feel good.

I understand, completely.
It has nothing to do with not being able to take a compliment, they just don't realize how you're not nearly as good as you could be and you don't need their contentment with your current work because that doesn't motivate you. You want criticism.

I understand how you feel though. I look at some of my creations from time to time and think they suck, even those others may say the opposite. I've felt like people just say it to be nice and although some may do that, I'm pretty sure it's just my own insecurities getting in the way.
The beauty in being an individual is that we all have different tastes. One person's scrap may be another's masterpiece.

I get that way sometimes. I often want people to tear my pictures apart because it'd show I was right about how much they suck but really I feel better knowing that some people like them.
I think it's all based on taste. I view anyone I think is better than me as at least good. Maybe that's how those people work? Hell based on that doodle I already think you're better than me.

... This might sound mean but if you don't want people to compliment, if you post stuff on DA, then turn comments off. Or just don't show anyone your work.
Even though you may not think it's good, a lot of people do. It could be a blessing in their life.

If you're better than someone, they'll compliment you, deal with it. I hope at least you can deal with critiques. And by the way, that's a good 'anger' expression in your drawing, as well as the shakey lines that give out an anger effect 
But seriously, it's not as bad as you think, let people be, and don't forget we are our worst critics and that 'beauty is in the eye of the beholder'.

I know what you mean. I know my poems aren't as good as people say they are and it makes me feel bad because I feel that they are lying to me and just telling me that to make me feel better.

honestly, i do not make a comment at all on anyone's work unless they deserve a comment for some reason. the only time i tell someone that their art is amazing is if it is really amazing and something that i would buy. seeing what you have drawn here i do think that you are a good artist, it's not much to go off of, but it looks similar to a style of a book of comic strips that i bought about a year ago and absolutely loved so much that i bought a couple more copies for my friends. maybe you're just being to hard on yourself. i don't get compliments on my work so let me just echo everyone else's thoughts... learn to take the compliment!
