It's not fair, it really isn't.
Your friendship is the most important thing, if they are the sort of person who wouldn't be bothered by it and things won't change between you then it's probably best to find a way to tell them, especially if you're feeling suicidal. However, if it would change things then talk to somebody completely confidentially, it feels so good to just talk about it, and if it's confidential with a complete stranger then there is no pressure from them to do anything.
For me, this is one of those 'been there, done that, got the emotional scars to prove it' secrets.

I was with someone that made me feel that way once. It was... great and painful at the same time becouse of the strong emotions. They say that was no good but I've never had the heart so red. And he is still my best friend after all. I think you have time enough to commit mistakes in life. One day, we'll all find ourselves almost dead saying "I wish I could suffer for love now"

Oh god, this could be me...ST i can relate so well! i'm not in love with him, but he's my soul mate, and the best friend i ever had...i don't want to lose him, ever, i couldn't make it without him, everyone tells me he's not worth it, but i would never even consider leaving him, i can't stay without talking to him.

This is how I felt towards my best friend not too terribly long ago.
Sadly, to get past it we stopped being friends. However, I healed myself and got myself to a happy place and now we're friends with just plain happiness. :]

It's ridiculous how well I can relate to this secret...
The only difference is that this person isn't my significant other (I'm guessing that that's what the person is to you.), he's just my best friend. It really starts to take a toll after a while, that's for sure.

The fact that he can make you sad means that he's the most important person to you.

I can relate so much it isn't funny.
I was like that with my ex-best friend, I ended up weighing up how shitty she made me feel vs how much I loved her, and decided it was not worth it. I'm much happier now... Do what you have to & look after yourself. Suicidal depression isn't how a best friend should make you feel.

I feel exactly the same way about my fiance, ST. He makes me so unbelievably happy, but at the same time he makes me feel so depressed. And I can't get enough of him. He's like an addiction, and that's part of the reason I said yes when he asked me to marry him. You're not alone ST, always remember that!

I can really relate to this secret, Secret Teller.
He made me feel extremely happy, and he also can make me feel very sad.
He has changed my world, it's exciting and yet I'm scared at the same time.

You should really tell them about how they make you feel sometimes, ST. It's not right for them to drag you from extreme to extreme like that. Things can stay on the postive side if you make them aware of how you feel. Just be polite and stay away from being accusatory <3
